At the invitation of First Lady Michelle Obama, The Morgan State University Choir sang in the East Room of the White House for a special Gospel telecast with Shirley Caesar, Tamela Mann, Lyle Lovett, Darlene Love, Michelle Williams, and Aretha Franklin.

The Morgan Choir performs with American Idol winner Jordin Sparks on September 13, 2014 to help celebrate the 200th anniversary of our National Anthem at Fort McHenry in Baltimore!


On the way home from Montenegro,
the choir meets Knight Rider star David Hasselhof in Frankfurt, Germany!

In July 2014, the choir travelled to Eastern Europe at the invitation of the US Ambassador of Montenegro. Photo above is at the 4th of July Celebration at Ambasssador Sue K. Brown’s Residence in Montenegro!

In the June of 2013, the Morgan State University choir travelled to one of the most far-reaching destinations in the country and continent of Australia.


In June 2012, the Morgan State Univeristy choir toured the country of Brazil -
giving concerts in San Paulo and Rio d Janiero.

The Morgan State University choir just returned from the White House! In an effort to help celebrate Black History Month, the MSU Choir was invited to perform in the East Room to select groups visiting the White House in February 2011.

The Morgan State University Choir sang for the Inauguration Ceremony of Governor Martin O’Malley in February 2010.

In October 2010, the Morgan State University Choir was the only non-conservatory choir invited to St. Petersburg Conservatory’s Week-long music festival.


The Morgan State University Choir returned home to Baltimore on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 from a ten-day, five-concert tour of China that took the group to four cities. The choir performed first in Beijing, on the evening of June 8th in a collaborative concert with the Beijing Wuzi University Choir. From there, the world renowned Morgan choir traveled to Tianjin for a concert in the city's premier music hall to an even more enthusiastic crowd. Next was the Choir's participation in the Qujiang Xi'an International Youth Festival in the brand new Xi'an Concert Hall. The festival's closing ceremony was held the following day in an outdoor venue on Purple Cloud Mountain.
The choir's final day in China was especially thrilling for the students who had the opportunity to sing at a World's Fair - the Shanghai World Expo. The MSU choir was featured in performance twice at the American Pavilion, representing the United States in song. "It was the perfect way to end a very memorable experience in China for our students," says choir director Eric Conway.


In June 2009, the Morgan State University Choir travelled to Bogota and Medellin, Colombia by special invitation of the United States Embassy in Colombia, South America. Please see link to our adventure in Colombia.

In July, 2009 the choir participated in the Ihlombe International Choral Festival in South Africa. Please see link with photos from our excursion to Johannesburg and Cape Town.

In the summer of 2006, the Morgan State University choir travelled to Prague, Czech Republic for two big concerts! We performed two concerts with Maestro Paul Freeman, the music director of the Czech National Symphony. The concerts were part of a International Music Festival entitled "Prague Proms." "I have never heard voices of Black people before. I believe that I have now heard the voice of God!" comments an older Prague woman after hearing the Morgan State University Choir for the first time.
